Boiling Water – Pouring boiling water directly into the ant hill is one of the fastest natural methods. It kills ants on contact and destroys tunnels.
Vinegar Solution – Mix equal parts white vinegar and water. Pour it into the hill to disrupt the colony. This also masks ant scent trails.
Dish Soap and Water – Mix a few tablespoons of dish soap with water and pour it down the hill. It suffocates ants and collapses their tunnels.
Diatomaceous Earth – This natural powder dries out ants’ bodies. Sprinkle it around and on top of the hill for safe, chemical-free control.
Boric Acid Bait – Combine boric acid with sugar and water to attract and poison ants. The workers bring it back to the queen.
Commercial Ant Killers – Use ant granules or mound treatments. Follow label instructions for effective use.
Shovel and Destroy – Dig up the mound and spread it out. Then apply boiling water or another treatment.
Cinnamon or Peppermint Oil – Strong scents confuse ants. Sprinkle cinnamon or use essential oils near hills and pathways.
