How to Make Perfectly Juicy and Crispy Salmon in the Air Fryer Every Time

Choose Fresh or Thawed Salmon Use skin-on fillets that are similar in thickness for even cooking. Pat them dry for a crispier finish.

Preheat the Air Fryer Set your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and let it run for 2–3 minutes. This helps crisp up the skin fast.

Don’t Overcrowd the Basket Place fillets skin-side down in a single layer with space between them for air circulation.

Cook Skin-Side Down Always cook with the skin on the bottom—this protects the flesh from drying out.

Cook Time Air fry at 390°F for 7–10 minutes depending on thickness. 1-inch fillets usually take 8 minutes.

Check for Doneness The salmon should flake easily and reach an internal temp of 125–130°F for juicy results. (Use a meat thermometer.)

Crisp the Skin (Optional) If you want extra-crispy skin, flip and air fry for 1–2 more minutes at the end.

Serve It Right Pair with lemon wedges, herbs, or a drizzle of honey mustard or dill sauce for a delicious finish.
